Adam Santa Maria | Managing Director
Adam Santa Maria commenced his career as a lawyer working for a tier 1 global law firm and is now a corporate finance executive and investment banker with a range of experience gained over more than 20 years of working in, and advising many of, Australia’s and the world’s leading and emerging companies. He is the founder of the Affinity Capital Group and has particular experience in structuring, execution and management of startups, SMEs and public company listings and ongoing management support.
Adam is a previous WA Business News 40 Under 40 winner and has acted in a range of senior executive and non executive capacities across a range of diverse private and listed companies. He has deep experience in M&A, equity capital markets and private equity and has built, acquired and run a number of successful companies in the resources, manufacturing, supply chain, corporate finance and technology industries. Adam has executed listings of more than 15 companies on the Australian Securities Exchange and has advised on, or raised capital in excess of, $100bn in announced transactions.
He holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons), Bachelor of Commerce and a Master of Applied Finance. Adam has also completed the Emerging Leaders Program at Harvard University and was a co-founder and director of Stanford University’s Spark Co-Lab Australian accelerator. He is also an executive MBA candidate at Oxford University.
Adam brings a unique breadth and depth of experience to Affinity’s practice across a diverse and successful multi-industry career. His relationships with decision makers within government, industry and finance helps Affinity’s clients achieve exceptional outcomes above and beyond what they would otherwise be able to achieve. He is motivated in bringing his skills to bear to ensure clients succeed when they work with Affinity to set and achieve their goals together.
Demetrios Pynes | Director
Demetrios Pynes is a corporate finance specialist with a focus on growing successful and profitable businesses that deliver on their potential, both in terms of financial and operational performance and the quality of the services it provides. Dem is a director of Affinity and is a co-founder of the EverAllied Group, which manages the group’s private equity businesses. He is highly experienced in structuring, transaction management, due diligence and debt markets.
Over the last 25 years, Demetrios has had a diversified career, initially commencing in analytical and advisory roles, where he provided strategic and investment advice to high net worth individuals, corporations and charities. Demetrios was the founder of an industrial company and led it to listing on the ASX by way of a reverse merger in 2015, holding the Managing Director role of the public company for 7 years where it grew to be the largest independent company in its sector. During this period, Demetrios was responsible for the acquisition and integration of over 50 private companies into the group, which has given him deep expertise in this process. Combining technical experience along with the journey of a founder, Demetrios has built solid commercial acumen and the invaluable network of corporate and financial contacts that are so essential to creating successful outcomes.
Demetrios holds a Bachelor of Commerce Majoring in Finance and Banking along with post graduate qualifications in Applied Finance and Investment. Demetrios is a Fellow of FINSIA and has held Responsible Manager roles as an AFSL holder.
Nicholas Murphy - Associate
Nicholas has over 5 years' experience working in Equity Capital Markets and both regulated and unregulated M&A transactions. Nick holds a Bachelor of Commerce, a Masters in Applied Finance and is currently preparing for the CFA exams.
Chris Bulgin - Associate
Chris has over 3 years experience working in corporate advisory with a focus on regulated Minerals and Resource transactions. Chris holds a Bachelor of Commerce and is currently completing a Masters in Applied Finance.
Samantha Molloy - Analyst
Samantha is a highly skilled analyst with experience in Debt Capital and Foreign Exchange Markets. Previously employed by a leading international investment bank, Samantha holds a Bachelor of Science majoring in Statistics and Psychology and is currently preparing for the CFA exams.
Luca La Ferla - Research Analyst
Luca is the Affinity Capital Group’s research analyst and holds a Bachelor in Global Security and is currently completing a Masters in Applied Finance. Luca has experience working with a range of early stage and advanced companies in a number of industries with particular expertise in research analysis.
Jacintha Fraser-Gillard - Executive Assistant
Jacintha is the Affinity Capital Group’s Executive Assistant and holds a Bachelor of Science Majoring in Biomedical Science and a Master of Clinical Pathology. Jacintha has experience in business administration and is also responsible for managing compliance with the various accreditations held by Affinity Capital Group.
