What we do

The issue

There is a growing need for both new and replacement investment in both economic and social infrastructure as well as developing businesses that support sovereign capabilities. However, governments cannot fund it all and certainly not on a timely basis. The typical large investment size, early stage of development, and development time is not easy to match the investment mandate of capital providers.

How we help

Affinity helps by understanding the infrastructure challenge, the infrastructure options contemplated, and the financial impact on all stakeholders, investors, financiers, government and customers. We chart a solution to satisfy all stakeholders, including pricing structure via our market knowledge and experience with capital providers. Once confirmed, Affinity arranges funding for the project from the most appropriate pool of capital and ultimately advises exiting or incoming investors.

Typical engagements include:

  • Feasibility/ FID financial analysis or the review thereof.
  • Detailed dynamic operational and financial modelling.
  • Regulated and shadow regulated pricing models.
  • Capital raising for greenfield projects.
  • Optimising financing and refinancing.
  • Acquisition or divestment of brownfield projects.

Why we can help

01

Active sector relationships

Our team members have worked for or opposite most of the infrastructure investors in Australia and many of the leading investors globally. Therefore, we have a working understanding of their investment mandates, requirements, and models. We are actively interacting with infrastructure investors on current projects and many equity investors and specialist banking leads are former colleagues.

02

Practical expertise and experience

Our team members have billions of dollars/ decades of experience in leading investment banks in major infrastructure hubs like London and Sydney, and therefore have high levels of both volume and value of transactions across almost all asset classes.

03

Deal technology

We have a well trained team on our in house deal technology that lets us quickly evaluate and consider infrastructure matters including models (i.e. financial, economic, benefit to cost, regulated pricing/ return on asset), databases (i.e. Bloomberg, Preqin), and sector information. Our directors were previously responsible for training and well being of infrastructure staff at major investment banks.

Indigenous Engagement and Regional Development

True prosperity is shared prosperity. At Affinity Capital Group, we believe that inclusive economic growth must actively support the voices, leadership, and self-determination of Indigenous peoples—particularly in the regions where so much of Australia’s future potential lies.

Our approach to regional development is grounded in partnership. We work with Traditional Owners, Indigenous corporations, and regional stakeholders to co-create projects that deliver lasting benefit—culturally, socially, and economically. Whether in natural resources, water infrastructure, agriculture, or impact investment, we aim to ensure First Nations communities are not only included, but empowered, in the growth story.

Natural Resources and Critical Minerals

Natural resources have always formed the foundation of human development—powering progress, enabling infrastructure, and fueling innovation. From the copper that wires our cities to the rare earth elements that make modern technology possible, these resources are indispensable in shaping our world. At Affinity Capital Group, we recognise that sustainable access to critical minerals is not just an economic imperative, but a vital component of global development and security.

As the world accelerates its transition to cleaner energy systems, the demand for critical minerals such as lithium, cobalt, nickel, and graphite is surging. These materials are the building blocks of electric vehicles, renewable energy technologies, and advanced battery storage—cornerstones of a low-carbon future.

Our commitment is to support projects and partners that responsibly develop our natural resources, ensuring they contribute not only to technological advancement, but also to environmental sustainability and long-term global prosperity.

Food and Water Security

At the core of global stability and economic development lies secure and equitable access to food and water.

Enhancing agricultural efficiency and implementing sustainable water management practices are essential to supporting human wellbeing, protecting environmental systems, and driving long-term economic growth. It is also fundamental to efficient industrial development and operations.

By developing reliable and scalable solutions across these sectors, we can empower remote communities, strengthen key industries, and help ensure that humanity has access to the resources it needs to thrive.

We believe technological innovation—particularly in precision agriculture, water treatment and development, and resource monitoring—will be critical to doing more with less. These innovations are unlocking value, building resilience, and enabling sustainable progress across both developed and emerging regions.
